Cello Solo in Netflix's Wednesday leads to custom sheet music publication

Netflix’s most viewed show this season Wednesday features Wednesday Addams (from the Addams Family) as a young, virtuosic brooding cellist. Naturally as a content creator, I wanted to see if I could replicate the soundtrack, notably the scene when she plays a cover of “Paint it Black”.

I realized quickly the full length cover wasn’t physically feasible on a single cello, but I adapted my cover for the vibe. Presently over 300k people have seen my cover and the attention lead to hundreds of requests for my arrangement in sheet music form.

The arrangement challenged me to translate the soundtrack to a playable version for solo cello- I added my personal markings and fingerings to serve as a guide for cellists. If this cover was a ski slope, it would be double black diamond- godspeed to cellists learning this cover everywhere!
